LIBERALIZATION OF THE ELECTRICITY MARKETS IN THE REGION

    under the patronage of Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria

    Mr. Traicho Traikov

    The event is being organized as response to the accumulated public expectations for open discussion on issues concerning the forthcoming liberalization of electricity markets in Bulgaria and the region.

    Representatives of Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism, BEH, NEK, ESO, producers and traders of electrical energy, NGOs and experts, together with representatives of European institutions and organizations from different countries will discuss on the issue of liberalization of electricity markets in Bulgaria and the region in the context of principal requirements of the third liberalization package of European Union.

    The participants will discuss the future changes in the national energy legislation, structure of the big energy companies, the role of the national regulators in the new market environment and other topics as well. Discussion will concern different expert ideas for models or reforms, diversification of the energy sources reflected to the national energy independency level.
