The General Affairs Council coordinates preparations for European Council meeting and is responsible for a number of cross-cutting policy areas. It is mainly made up of the European affairs ministers from all EU member states.
The members of the Eurogroup are the ministers from the euro area member states and the Eurogroup president.
The ECOFIN Council meets every month and brings together economic and financial ministers from all EU member countries. It is responsible for economic policy, taxation issues and the regulation of financial services.
The AGRIFISH Council brings together ministers from each EU member state. The Commissioners for agriculture and rural development, for health and food safety, or for maritime affairs and fisheries also take part in meetings.
